Hunter Truck is hiring! We are looking for energetic and committed team members to join our Uniontown, PA branch as Parts Counterperson.

SUMMARY:

The Parts Counterperson is responsible for selling parts to all customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of two years in heavy-duty dealership or five years of an automotive parts counter.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required
  • Must be able to drive across county and state lines
  • Must be able to complete and pass OSHA-approved forklift training

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications preferred
  • Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assist all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
  • Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Provide high level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Pulls and fills orders from stock.
  • Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
  • Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.
  • Notify the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.
  • Follow up on back-ordered parts.
  • Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
  • Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
  • Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization with valid ID.
  • Ensure that all charge sales are signed by the customer.
  • Ensure that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.
  • Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
  • Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
  • Solicit assigned accounts by phone.
  • Monitor open orders for pickup; clean will-call shelf weekly of cancelled orders; ensure parts are restocked or returned promptly if not picked up.
  • Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
  • Clean computer terminals and printers daily.
  • Participate in all training programs that are made available.
  • Keep current on new products and product updates.
  • Participate with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
  • Maintain professional appearance.
  • Adhere to and promote all existing health and safety policies in the workplace to reinforce the Hunter culture of a safe work environment
