Position Title: Assistant Supervisor

Position Overview

• The Western Sugar Cooperative has a challenging opportunity for an Assistant Supervisor position in the Warehouse. This position is responsible for the direction and coordination phases of shipping in the Scottsbluff facility, as well as the terminals located in Bayard, Western Valley, Gering and Mitchell.

Essential Functions

• Commitment to the Core Values of Western Sugar Cooperative: Safety, Quality, Business Ethics and Cost Management.
• Be detail oriented with the ability to scrutinize all documents before, during and after each customer load (bulk car, bulk truck, or semi load) before shipments leave WSC in order to ensure that the customers receive the highest quality product.
• Determines package sugar inventory, pallets, totes, etc.
• Must have knowledge of and adherence to GMP’s including the understanding of the direct link between food safety and customer satisfaction. As wells as ensure GMPs are being met.
• Be able to track, release and divert railcars and be able to track coal usage.
• Provide leadership for Warehouse personnel to achieve continuous improvement and alignment with the Cooperative’s vision, mission values and objectives.
• Drive employee engagement, training and development to maximize safety, quality and performance and ensure all quality standards, specifications and policies are met or exceeded.
• Provide supervision and assist with ownership of bulk loading and rail operations at Scottsbluff.
• Provide direct oversight for the warehouse and bulk load areas, including delivery, maintenance, quality, safety, inventory management, scheduling and operation.
• Ensure a clean and dust free work environment.
• Pick, post, and close bulk and rail orders at Scottsbluff.
• Record and submit bin measurement data on a weekly basis.
• Create work orders for maintenance as needed.
• Support projects, working with vendors, receiving quotes, etc.
• Oversee mobile equipment management at Scottsbluff and terminal locations in Nebraska.
• Order pallets and other materials as required.
• Develop and manage a dock inspection program alongside safety management.
• Assist in payroll administration needs for the team.
• All other duties as assigned.

Skill & Experience Requirements

• Strong preference for a candidate bilingual in English and Spanish
• High school diploma or GED is a requirement
• 2-3 years leadership experience preferred

• Be a safety leader with solid safety behaviors and demonstrated leadership
• Must have strong written and verbal communication and math skills

• Must have strong computer skills including email applications, Microsoft Word, Excel and working knowledge of SAP)

• Must have proven organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, controlling the minute-by-minute demands, while meeting customer requirements, cross-town loads, inventory details, etc.
