Job Description & Requirements

Schedule: No set schedule, no set weekends, no block schedule. The facility determines the complete schedule, which may include working every weekend. Must be flexible. Maximum 1-2 days RTO (Requested Time Off).
Vaccination Requirement: Vaccination required. Medical and religious exemptions accepted. If exempt approved, the candidate must undergo weekly COVID-19 testing.
Experience: Oncology experience preferred but not required.

• Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
• Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia
• Hodgkin's Lymphoma
• Multiple Myeloma
• Myelodysplastic Syndrome
• Myeloproliferative Disorders
• Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Special Procedures/Unit Details:
• Autologous Transplants: Patients receive their own stem cells.
• Syngeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from their identical twin.
• Allogeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from their sibling, parent, or an unrelated donor.
• CAR-T Therapy
Certifications Required:
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred Certifications:
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
Skills Required:
• MS/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
• Telemetry monitoring
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Feeding tube care and management
• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draw
• Peripheral line care/management
• PICC line management
• Nasal cannula administration

#Tier4 Travel Compliance
There is a strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start – no exceptions. Please screen for any candidate vacation time taking place immediately after booking as this will likely cause a push due to fingerprinting delays.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE MADE AWARE OF THE URGENCY OF THE OHIO FINGERPRINTING PROCESS. COMPLETE RESULTS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL TRAVELERS BY THE COMPLIANCE DEADLINE – NO EXCEPTIONS. TRAVELERS WHO ARE UNRESPONSIVE OR UNCOOPERATIVE WITH CREDENTIALING ARE AT RISK OF PUSH/CANCEL.
All candidates who are currently outside the state of Ohio but within driving distance will be required to drive to a fingerprinting location in Ohio as soon as possible after booking. Travelers who are extreme distances from Ohio will be mailed a fingerprinting packet, which is to be completed urgently upon receipt. Detailed instructions will be sent to the candidate by the Credentialing team.

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
Must have valid compact or state license in hand to be submitted. Facility will not accept emergency or pending licenses.
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
