Job Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Facility Area Coordinator - Emergency Response & Readiness to work in our Emergency Response and Readiness department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our IRC facility with every other Friday off. Provide operations support to the Nuclear/Radiological Search and Response Training Program (N/RS&RT) for radiological response entities external to the INL (e.g., Department of Defense, Department of Energy). Responsibilities Include:

  • Function as Lab Space/Facility Coordinator overseeing research, development, demonstration and deployment (RDD&D) activities associated with the Program.
  • Directly manage all operations, RDD&D support tasks and maintenance activities within the Program's radiological facilities and ranges.
  • Complete understanding and wide application in facility operations, nuclear material balance and radiological source custodianship, hazard analysis, criticality safety and also procedural upkeep and regulatory compliance.
  • Recognized Subject Matter Expert in the aforementioned areas - accurate recommendations for procedural compliance are an absolute necessity for successful completion of organizational objectives relative to the training program.
  • Act independently in designated leadership role to ensure all activities are conducted within the authorization basis for the facility/activity.
  • Ensure that necessary work permits are obtained and implemented for all work conducted within the facility or at off-site locations where the activity is occurring.
  • Provide oversight and ensure activities are conducted following health and safety requirements, work control procedures, and DOE requirements.
  • Responsible for management of all shipments of materials (including radiological and nuclear material sources) required to support off-site RDD&D activities.
Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:
  • PR0200: Baccalaureate degree & 2 years relevant experience. OR Vocational Certificate & 8 years relevant experience. OR 10 years relevant experience. Relevant experience includes radiological control functional support and management of facilities in which radiological/nuclear inventories are maintained and utilized in daily operations.
  • PR0300: Baccalaureate degree & 5 years relevant experience. OR Vocational Certificate & 11 years relevant experience. OR 13 years relevant experience. Relevant experience includes radiological control functional support and management of facilities in which radiological/nuclear inventories are maintained and utilized in day-to-day operations.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" Clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

  • PR0200 - 180 ($64,272 - $102,840) Or PR0300 - 200 ($83,412 - $137,592)
