Job Description
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Manager of Data and Analytics to work in our Information Technology department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls Administration building, Idaho Falls, Idaho with every other Friday off. Remote or Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position. You will report to the Director, Intelligent Automation & Advanced Analytics. You will manage the Data and Analytics team and elevate the existing data and analytics program at INL by ensuring trust in data, providing a platform/foundation for data management, empowering the data worker community, and leading a data-driven culture within the enterprise. Responsibilities Include:
- Manage activities through first level managers. Provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Execute financials, business planning, organizational priorities, and workforce. Ensure that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained. Responsible for multiple tasks, organizations, locations, products, and technical disciplines. Recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect section or multiple disciplines. Help develop overall objectives and long-term goals of the department and the division. Interact frequently with subordinate supervisors, customers, and functional peer group professionals, involving matters between sections and multiple units. Partner with contacts outside own area of expertise and other external partners. Present results and recommendations across discipline.
- Lead the team through delivery of data management, governance and quality initiatives for the enterprise. Ensure the, growth, manageability and sustainability of INL's enterprise data analytics hub, including data integrations, raw data environment, data warehouses, marts, models, reports, and visualizations, and the associated governance, processes and resources across these areas. Ensure that the data analytics needs of product teams and customers are met, ensure senior management is presented information necessary to make informed decisions. Lead the team across all developed solutions (design, configure, test, deploy and integration of new, modified and enhanced solutions)
- Participate in multiple types of meetings or workshops to determine solutions. Promote creation of business cases for new service offerings. Participate in the development process, including constructing and maintaining efficient, reusable and reliable data-oriented products such as models, reports and visualizations.
- Promote and grow the use of advanced analytics capabilities within the enterprise, including use of measurements, advanced (scientific) techniques and modeling, and maturing methodologies such as machine learning and generative artificial intelligence.
- Ensure ongoing professional development of staff. Foster an outstanding laboratory culture according INL values of Excellence, Ownership, Integrity, Teamwork, Inclusivity, and Safety.
- Baccalaureate and 7 years experience, or Advanced Degree and 5 years experience. 15 years of experience in lieu of education is acceptable.
- 5-7+ years' overall experience with Information Technology / Information Systems
- 5+ years' experience in data & analytics, business analysis, and/or software development
- 3+ years' experience in a leadership role
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Salary Grade: MR0300 - 230 ($124,368 - $211,596)
