Position Summary:

Acts as the central contact point across Zoetis to facilitate the discussions and decision making that defines the appropriate level of IT Resiliency, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery for business processes that are identified as critical or essential to Zoetis.

In this role the Incumbent will partner with the Zoetis Tech & Digital (ZTD) organization to bring forward new technology and cost-effective solutions to ensure the Zoetis business continues even when faced with significant unplanned outages up to and including disaster recovery-level events. In the event of a disaster recovery-level event, the Incumbent will actively participate in coordination efforts to resolve the outage. This position requires strategic thinking, risk-based decision-making skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

This role is performed under the umbrella of the ZTD Risk Management & Compliance Infrastructure & Disaster Recovery team. The incumbent's work must be performed in a manner that directly supports this team's roles, responsibilities, and purview. A significant percentage of the incumbent's work time will be spent on the following operational level activities, often working with other Zoetis colleagues to complete these deliverables:

  • Application Recovery Plans: Ensure all applications and IT services have a current and approved application recovery plan in accordance with Zoetis governance and in alignment with system recovery capabilities.
  • Site IT Recovery Plans: Ensure all of Zoetis' operational sites have a current and approved Site IT Recovery Plan. This document identifies IT services required by the site and outlines how those services will be recovered in the event of a major site outage up to and including a DR level event.
  • Data Center, Cloud Region, and Edge Site Recovery Plans: Partner with the ZTD Infrastructure teams to document, maintain, and review recovery plans for Zoetis Data Centers, Cloud Regions, and Edge Sites.
  • Recovery exercises: Lead efforts to plan, manage, run, and summarize results of periodic recovery exercises verifying the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of the Application Recovery, Site IT Recovery, and/or Data Center/Cloud Region/Edge Site Recovery Plans. This may entail performing technical system restoration and/or conducting tabletop walkthroughs of procedures and processes.
  • Interface with various colleagues and teams throughout Zoetis, including ZTD Infrastructure, Site IT Leadership, and Application Owners as well as vendors supporting various capabilities, such as DR services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience with business resiliency planning and management, with focus on IT systems recovery preferred
  • Hands-on experience supporting regulatory compliance for Data Center infrastructure, preferably within life sciences
  • Industry knowledge of implementing IT controls within processes and tools
  • Prior experience working with Fortune 1000 size companies and/or government regulatory agencies
  • This role requires the ability to interface with highly skilled technical IT teams. The Incumbent is not expected to understand the nuances (that is responsibility of the technical teams) but is expected to be able to communicate with those teams effectively using standard IT technical vocabulary. This requires a solid understanding of:
    • OS technologies such as Windows Server and Linux and their supported storage technologies
    • Virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere ESX, vCenter, Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI)
    • Networking concepts and functionality as it relates to platform architecture and recovery
    • Enterprise Data Protection and Resiliency, including Disaster Recovery
    • Enterprise IT System Lifecycle Management, Information Security, and Data Center infrastructure
    • Cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
  • Knowledge of Project Management Principles and experiencing with planning, scheduling, and coordinating tasks, resources, and people. Must be able to make a plan, direct the team, and efficiently deliver results
  • Should possess understanding and working experience with industry-impacting compliance guidelines, regulations, and frameworks such as SOX, FDA, GAMP, and NIST
  • This role requires the ability to work independently, think strategically, and thrive in a culture of flexibility without constant management oversite and direction.
  • Self-direction and strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent running projects and responsibilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be fluent in English.

Additional Requirements: Ability to travel and to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to
be located in Colorado. Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.

Base Pay Range: $89,000 - $128,000

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in California, NJ Remote, NY Remote, or Washington. Base pay may vary based on location and
other factors.

Base Pay Range: $100,000 - $144,000

This position is eligible for short-term incentive compensation. The position is also eligible for long-term incentive.
