Sr. Scientist 1 or Principal Scientist II - FSP

Description

We are looking to fill a Senior Scientist 1 or Principal Scientist 1 LC-MS Specialist position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in South San Francisco CA. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Responsibilities

• Check instrument performance daily, and perform routine upkeep of walkup LC-MS instruments

• Preparation of mobile phases for LC-MS instruments

• Respond to end-user repair calls for LC-MS and troubleshoot/repair simple issues such as leaks or clogs

• Submit and coordinate repair tickets for more complex issues

• Provide assistance with preparation of samples and setup of data acquisition for routine analysis

• Coordinate cryogen orders, and perform weekly liquid nitrogen fills for NMR instruments

• Daily sample clean up on the two walk-up NMR systems

• Purity analysis of investigational compounds by LC

Qualifications

• Senior Scientist 1

  • BS or BA with 5 years or more of relevant experience

  • MS with at least 1 year of relevant experience

• Principal Scientist 1

  • MS with at least 3 years of relevant experience

  • PhD with 1 or more years of relevant experience

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience in LC-MS analysis

• Prior work with the analysis of biomolecules.

• Strong organizational skills

• Well-developed written and oral communication capabilities

Desired Skills and Experience

• Protein purification workflows using TECAN or other liquid handlers

• Experience with Empower and other common LCMS software

• Prior experience troubleshooting LCMS equipment

• Experience with routine upkeep of NMR instrumentation
