Job Description:

As an Oncology Pharmacist contracted through RPh on the Go, you will play a crucial role in the management and oversight of medication therapy in cancer patients. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective use of medications, with a focus on chemotherapy and biotherapy agents. Your expertise will contribute to the development of medication plans that optimize treatment outcomes and minimize adverse effects, ensuring the highest standard of care for patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medication orders for appropriateness in terms of dosing, administration, and potential drug interactions, with a specific focus on oncology treatments.
• Provide specialized clinical support and consultation to healthcare providers, nursing staff, and patients regarding oncology medications and treatment plans.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment adjustments based on therapy response and side effect management.
• Oversee the preparation and dispensation of chemotherapy and other oncology medications, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols.
• Educate patients and caregivers on medication regimens, potential side effects, and self-management strategies for dealing with treatment-related issues.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in oncology pharmacotherapy and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.

Shift:

• 8:00am - 4:30pm

Requirements:

• IN Pharmacist license
• Inpatient hospital or home infusion experience.
• 3 years infusion/Chemotherapy experience
• BLS required
• EMR experience a plus
• Sterile compounding experience.
