Job Description
As the Shipping and Receiving Clerk you will work within the logistics department with a focus on material’s management, inventory control, quality of shipments, and general warehouse operations including material picking, shipping, and receiving. You will work directly with the Value Stream Buyer/Planner and Plant Manager on securing inbound and outbound freight and warehouse management. Other responsibilities include:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing slips or purchase orders, and process incoming materials into inventory.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely, labeling packages, and arranging for carrier pickup.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and receipts, including tracking numbers, delivery dates, and discrepancies.
- Perform periodic inventory counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records and identify discrepancies.
- Assist with assembly tasks during periods of slow shipping activity, including but not limited to product assembly, packaging, and labeling.
- Report any damaged or non-conforming items to the appropriate personnel and follow established procedures for disposition.
To be successful in this role you will be a team player with a self-starter and can-do attitude. Other requirements include:
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving roles, with knowledge of shipping procedures, packaging methods, and carrier requirements.
- Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and advanced planning software, and experience and knowledge of Dynamics 365 is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Hands-on experience in assembly work in a warehouse environment is a plus.
