Virtual Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist - Washington(Remote)

Are you a dedicated educator with a passion for empowering deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students to succeed in inclusive classroom settings? We're seeking a Virtual DHH Specialist to join our team in Washington, providing support and facilitation for DHH students in general education classrooms through push-in services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide virtual push-in support for deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students within general education classrooms.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to create inclusive learning environments that meet the diverse needs of DHH students.
  • Adapt instructional materials and methodologies to acmodate individual learning styles and munication preferences.
  • Facilitate munication between DHH students and their peers, teachers, and other school staff members.
  • Implement strategies to support language development, literacy skills, and social-emotional growth for DHH students.
  • Monitor progress, assess learning outes, and provide feedback to students and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certificate in Washington State with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) education.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with other munication modalities used by DHH students.
  • Experience working with DHH students in educational settings, preferably in inclusive environments.
  • Strong collaboration and munication skills to effectively work with colleagues, students, and families in a virtual setting.
