YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

The Herff Jones Cap & Gown division is looking for a Procurement Clerk to join our team.

Here's How You’ll Make an Impact:

Reporting to the Procurement Supervisor, your main responsibilities will be to ensure an un-interrupted flow of goods and services through cooperation with Production team, Material Planners, Quality Assurance personnel, and various other corporate teams. Above all, you’ll be an agent for change as we launch multiple new initiatives to streamline how we do business and increase the quality of product we deliver to our clients.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH:

  • Ensure timely delivery of needed goods and services.
  • Accurately track and report key functional metrics.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to accomplish project goals.
  • Be a team player with the ability to work with small groups to achieve a desired outcome.
  • Review open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on time delivery, pricing accuracy, and communicate expedite needs as they arise.
  • Manage inventory tracking and provide recommendations on decisions, including identifying key materials, and recommend future order quantities.
  • Communicate with management staff, end users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and recommend corrective action.
  • Obtain and distribute MSDS information where needed.
  • Partner with the Health and Safety team.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in various departments across the plant as needed.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with an enthusiastic mindset of continuous improvement.
  • 1-3 years of office experience, preferably in a Procurement or Planning function.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel, required.
  • Familiarity with office systems such as Oracle, SAP, etc. preferred.
  • Customer Service mindset with the ability to change directions mid-stream when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Required to occasionally lift/move 40 pounds or less.
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English.
