Educational Support Specialist

Job Description

An Education Support Specialist (ESS)'s main role is to ensure the program is being implemented as designed and with fidelity. The ESS works directly with the administration and classroom teachers, providing support and expertise to enhance the overall educational experience for students and educational practices of teachers within Star Academy. The ESS is dedicated to all assigned sites and is responsible for all aspects of service and support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct Regular Site Visits to Assigned Sites
• Maintain Regular Communication with Assigned Sites
• Delivers Professional Development
• Create Teacher Growth/Development Plans
• Project Involvement

Education

An undergraduate degree is required.

Qualifications

• A teaching certificate is required
• 3+ years classroom experience
• Teacher / School Leadership experience preferred
• Must undergo a background check, drug screening, and acceptable driving record
• US work authorization is required

Travel Component

An ESS travels, on average, 40-60% of the month depending on location of assigned sites. Even though the ESS role does not require applicant to live in New Orleans, periodic travel to New Orleans (base office) for training, company meetings, hosted conferences, etc. would be required.
