Software Engineer

Salary: $72,000 - $78,000

TITLE: SOFTWARE ENGINEER 

DIVISION: Information Technology 

REPORTS TO: Chief Technology Officer 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time 

FLSA STATUS: Exempt 

 

JOB SUMMARY: Develop and maintain association databases and applications. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• develop and maintain mobile, web and database software solutions 
• assist in developing and deploying technical and documentation standards 
• assist the Chief Technology Officer on developing Association IT plans, budgets and initiatives as needed 
• assist with Capital Conference preparation duties as assigned 
• assist in other routine IT maintenance tasks as needed 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Required Skills 

• PHP 
• Experience designing and developing for relational databases 

• Experience using GIT repositories 
• Familiarity with CI/CD 
• Basic knowledge of front-end technologies such as CSS3, Javascript, and HTML5 
• Basic understanding of object-oriented program 
• Excellent problem solving skills 
• Basic familiarity with Linux 
• Ability to independently self-direct and self-motivate to solve problems through create innovative solutions. 
• Excellent communications skills 
• Demonstrated ability to learn and implement new concepts quickly 
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation 

 

Preferred Skills 

• Familiarity with Filemaker 
• Experience with React JS or other modern javascript frameworks 
• Experience with Drupal, Laravel, or Symfony 
• Good knowledge of unit testing 
• Familiar with Docker and/or other virtualization platforms 
• Familiar with cloud development IaaS platforms such as AWS 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer  
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds  
• Repetitive hand motion  
• Remote work
