Job Summary
Bishop O’Dowd High School is seeking excellent candidates for middle school Math, Reading, and Introduction to Psychology teachers for the Summer Academy program. These summer positions run from June 17, 2024 to July 19, 2024 and involve working with students ranging from 6th-8th graders and participating in the O’Dowd community.
There are two Summer Academy sessions: The first session is from June 17, 2024 through June 28, 2024. The second session is from July 8, 2024 through July 19,2024. The teacher will be expected to teach both sessions of Summer Academy. The successful candidate would be able to masterfully teach different levels of middle and school classes and actively engage students in the learning process.
Teachers at Bishop O’Dowd High School are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in alignment with Bishop O’Dowd High School’s Integral Student Outcomes. The individual in this position will collaborate most closely with their respective department team, ensuring consistency across grade levels and content areas.

Required Qualifications
- A demonstrated understanding of and passion for middle and high school education and adolescent development.
- A nuanced understanding of DEI from a personal and/or professional perspective
- Bachelor’s degree and/or related education or experience applicable to the responsibilities of the position
