Job purpose

The Coffee Bar Attendant is responsible for assisting guests with their orders in the coffee shop, bars, or any other area as directed by the Food and Beverage Supervisor or Manager, while providing friendly and efficient service to all resort guests.

General Hospitality Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain hotel’s Quality Customer Service standards and uphold the mission statements through the strict follow up of the Hospitality Rules.
  • Maintain and abide by time clock rules, report to work area on time.
  • Keep high grooming standards at all times and keep the work area clean and safe.
  • Wear, maintain and follow uniform standards at all times.
  • Must become familiar and proficient in all aspects of the property, departments, locations, hours of operations, rooms, activities, etc. respond to guests accurately.
  • Always use guest etiquette.
  • Follow proper Handling Inquiries/Requests and complaints standards and maintain the guest satisfaction rule at all times.
  • Use proper telephone etiquette and answering techniques when answering the telephone.
  • Anticipate guest’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, at all times.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Follow proper emergency and safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist all disabled guests, catering to their special needs as much as possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take orders for guests in a professional manner.
  • Sell sandwiches, snacks, coffee drinks, and any other beverages or items as directed by the Food and Beverage Supervisor, Manager, or General Manager.
  • Communicate with supervisor or manager or designee when more product is needed.
  • Maintaining an excellent knowledge of food menus and beverage lists by area.
  • Know and adhere to all liability laws.
  • Stock condiment trays, coffee station, display cases, and refrigerators as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all areas worked.
  • Handle all checks and cash according to procedures.
  • Printing of reports at the end of the shift and banking out.
  • Attending all designated staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year's restaurant experience is preferred but on-the-job training is provided.
  • Excellent food and service knowledge.
  • Pleasant personality.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak clearly and accurately in English.

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, pull, and lift on a regular basis and stand for up to an 8-hour period.
