Craftsmen Industries custom manufactures unique specialty trailers and vehicles and large format printed elements for experiential marketing and industrial solutions for brands across the industry spectrum including Boeing, PepsiCo, and Anheuser-Busch. Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title: Project Engineer

Location: Highland, IL

Position Summary: The Project Engineer is tasked with gathering project information from the customer then develop a conceptual design using historical data and employee input, to create industry leading concession trailers.

Primary Responsibilities:

Collaborate with both the client and internal departments to understand project expectations.

Track project scope changes and performance to established budget and timelines.

Work directly with shop employees daily to work thru such things as design concerns and project schedule.

Work with the Purchasing department to obtain project accessories in a timely manner.

Review project designs for safety and liability concerns and promptly elevate any concerns to Sales and Production management.


Required Skills:

Bachelor's in Engineering or related field and a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proficient in 3D solid modeling and AutoCAD.

Understanding of general machine design.

Excellent communication skills while working with employees, clients, and suppliers.

Ability to be an interdisciplinary team player.

Ability to pivot with project priorities as scope of work changes.

Preferred Skills:

Solidworks.

Knowledgeable in the areas of hydraulics, electrical control systems, automotive engineering, cabinet building, plumbing, HVAC, lighting and/or AV design/control.


Physical Requirements:

Ability stand, walk, duck, crouch, kneel and to be in uncomfortable positions for short periods of time.

Ability to work in hot/cold temperatures and loud/dirty environments for limited periods of time.

Ability to sit for long periods of time.
