Job Description

Purpose

Planning and monitoring the materials and products. Manage the flow of inventory and schedule outbound finished goods to customers. Monitors the performance of vendors to ensure continued quality and timely shipments. Schedules and forecasts the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business from its supply chain companies. To ensure that the supply of materials meet the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity. Able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.
    • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit.
    • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
    • Day-today order management and management of deliveries.
    • Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule.
    • Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production.
    • Implement all processes to agreed standards/targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement.
    • Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system and ensure data is accurate, up to date, and resolve any issues as required.
    • Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy.
    • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.
    • Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy.
    • Create regular statistical reports and analysis.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with preferred emphasis in supply management, business administration, economics, or engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and experience using an MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system 
  • Advanced Excel skills

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting with occasional plant floor visits and observation.
