Reports to: Quality Control Supervisor

The Quality Control Compliance Leader is hands-on and will work directly with Operations and Quality responsible for responsible for safely implementing Quality Control for production and shipping of our products. Creating better solutions and experiences for our customers, communities, and colleagues, embracing innovation and improvement with a pioneering spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure QC Technicians monitor and conduct prescribed checks, and conduct analysis on raw materials and finished goods for conformance to established standards while investigating non-conforming items with the quality assurance department.
  • Assist the QC Manager and/or Supervisor in monitoring compliance to the company's Quality Assurance Policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Oversee the calibration and of testing instruments in the QA lab and assist in troubleshooting the QC technical & operational aspects of the production process.
  • Completely understand & effectively communicate the Material Specifications & Product Formula information.
  • Develop and provide accurate and effective technical responses and reports as required.
  • Review and update laboratory SOP and provide verification feedback to QA Manager/supervisor and/or designate.
  • Daily record keeping and analysis reports, internal audit and related Quality surveillance reports.
  • Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
  • Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Profile

  • University degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field is required
  • 3+ years’ experience in quality control, quality assurance, and/or quality management for a food or beverage manufacturing company with 1 year of prior experience in a supervisory role is required
  • Must be able to work a Night Shift.
  • Experience in low acid beverage production is an asset
  • Familiar with operating various testing and lab equipment and ability to train others
  • Sound knowledge/awareness of current QA principles and practices, statistics, sensory evaluation, GMP & HACCP
  • Good analytical skills to enable identification and resolution or problems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite of Applications)
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively train, mentor, and lead staff
