Beautiful Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills is now accepting resumes for part-time servers. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in fine dining, casual lunch dining and banquet events and a proven track record in providing member and guest satisfaction. Must be available to work flexible hours, AM or PM shifts, weekends, and holidays. Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Training cards will be required within 30 days of hire. Interviews will be scheduled with qualified candidates. Golf privileges/complimentary meal.

SUMMARY

Provide food and beverage service to Club members and guests.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned whether or not in job description, at any time, by the F&B Director or designee.


Supports the goals and objectives of the Company and in accordance with the Company's commitment to Total Customer Satisfaction, must have professional, service oriented attitude at all times.


Follows safe work practices at all times.


Must adhere to schedule, report to work on time, well groomed and wearing a clean uniform.


Sets up side station and performs assigned side work at beginning/end of each shift. Checks with closing server at the end of shift.


Memorizes menu items; maintains current menu knowledge for both food and beverage.


Provides immediate attention to all members/ guests upon seating; greets members and guests with an authentic smile and a "good afternoon" or "good evening".


Verbally give member/guest daily specials from memory; takes member/guests orders.


Turns orders into bar or kitchen; informs bartender or chef of any special instructions for the order.


Assembles food and beverage on trays; procures items from each station as necessary; Able to carry food and beverages effectively without dropping. Carries all beverages with a tray at all times.


Serves meals and beverages using proper service techniques. This includes wine service.


Checks back to ensure member/guest satisfaction.


Removes soiled dishes and finished glassware promptly.


Suggests and serves dessert, coffee, and after dinner drinks.


Do not leave service areas without notifying the supervisor on duty.


Verifies accuracy of prices and that all items have been included on the bill. Presents the bill and receive signature from each member/guest.

Handles all credit card and member charge as applicable from member and guests as prescribed by standard operating procedures.


Keeps tables, dining room, and bus station clean and orderly.


Restock any item that runs out.


Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.


Performs cleanup and closing duties as assigned by supervisor.


Attends all service staff meetings as requested by the F&B Director or General Manager.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability desired. Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; 2 years restaurant experience as a server. Must be able to carry food and beverage trays effectively. Able to cite verbal specials from memory to members/guests. Knowledge of P.O.S. system.


Language/Interpersonal Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to members, guests, or employees of the organization. Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities. The employee must be able to interact and communicate with all types of individuals and deal with difficult people and situations. Must have an outgoing personality; Possess excellent interpersonal, customer service and teamwork skills, maintain positive working relationships, promotes a cooperative, courteous, friendly, accommodating and respectful attitude towards members, guests, and colleagues.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with and solve problems involving several variables.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid California driver's license.

Must be able to work extended hours, to include weekends and holidays as necessary. The work environment is often fast paced. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to work in a well-lighted temperature controlled area sufficient in size to allow freedom of movement to accomplish tasks. Must be able to adapt to the climate with marked changes in temperature from heat in the kitchen area to the cold or refrigerated areas.


EQUIPMENT USED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE JOB: Coffee maker, tea maker, trays, bar dishwasher, knives, hand truck.
