Emergency Veterinary Technicians at Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic have the opportunity to earn between $19 - $25 an hour as well as assistance with relocation. Up to $2000 sign on bonus offered.

Responsibilities:

Emergency Veterinary Technicians at Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic are responsible for:

  • Emergency patient triage and care
  • Venipuncture
  • IV catheter placement
  • Obtaining radiographs
  • Running in-house diagnostic testing
  • IV fluid therapy
  • Surgical assisting and post-operative care
  • Client education and communication
  • Safe, low-stress pet restraint
  • Maintaining hospital cleanliness as part of a team

Requirements

The ideal candidate for our Emergency Veterinary Technician role must:

  • have a minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience; technicians with certification are preferred
  • have the ability to adhere to the attendance policy
  • have any allergies to animals controllable through medication
  • be able to lift 40 pounds
  • willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions to include overnight and weekends, and rotating all major holidays
  • have the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day
  • have visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written directions
  • have the ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person and over the telephone
  • have fine motor skills adequate for nursing skills such as phlebotomy and utilizing hospital equipment
