DuraServ’s continued double-digit growth necessitates a strong professional Plant Operations Manager supporting our Proprietary Brands. This role, reporting to the Sr Director of Operations will be responsible for day-to-day Operational leadership and will be the functional owner overseeing Plant manufacturing operations(S, Q, D, C, P), including continuous improvement and operational excellence, and the overall P&L results.


Essential Functions

  • Leadership characteristics of prioritizing the safety and quality of their team.
  • LEAN thinker that’s customer-centric with a process-driven mindset that involves all stakeholders to deliver process improvements that safely move the needle.
  • Oversees and reports daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics.
  • Assess and analyze departmental performance to find ways to optimize efficiency and drive Operational Excellence.
  • Analyzes and interprets the results and summarizes/communicates in a manner that management understands; tells the stories behind the numbers.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive the execution of site goals. Stakeholders include but are not limited to Sales, Engineering, and divisional partners.
  • Develops forecasts, measures actual performance against plans and budgets, and identifies key drivers to results.
  • Develop the operation systems, operating schedules, and workloads to ensure the most effective and timely use of production equipment and personnel. Plan and manage training, instruction, and guidance of assigned workforce.
  • Align to and support capital equipment programs for production and information systems. Ensure implementation of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with employees to effectively lead cultural change that embodies DuraServ Values & Philosophies. Communicate and demonstrate DuraServ's best practices, ethics, values, and philosophy throughout the organization.
  • Collaborating with the leadership team to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and enhance profitability.
  • Assess risks associated with plant operations and implement appropriate risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all government, financial, environmental, and labor regulations as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Top-tier analytical skills and ability to translate data and trends into solutions.
  • Superb verbal and written communication and presentation skills with a keen ability to coordinate and interact professionally with customers and stakeholders.
  • Work effectively within and across teams to build partnerships, cohesiveness, and trust.
  • Problem-solving, results-oriented accountability with a strong execution background
  • Business acumen with the ability to create, analyze, data, and interpret P&L statements.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, advanced Excel skills desired
  • Willingness to learn current processes and apply changes over time.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, motivate, and drive accountability with the work team.
  • Must have a knowledge base of Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Customer Service, EHS, Finance, Human Resources, Quality, and Supply Chain Management functions.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision and coaching of shift leaders toward attainment of product quality, schedule, and production efficiency goals.
  • Assists shift leaders and employees in understanding and applying personnel policies following the Employee Handbook and quality specifications.


Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • In office environment
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Travel

  • This job requires 5% planned business travel.


Education and Experience

  1. Associate degree in engineering or business preferred, Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business desired
  2. At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry-leading manufacturing operations in a LEAN environment
  1. Prior experience as a Plant Operations Manager in a small to large manufacturing plant is desired.
  2. Application of lean/continuous improvement tools & techniques in low volume high-value production/manufacturing environment, Lean manufacturing practitioner preferred.
  3. APICS Certifications desired.
