Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented engineer to utilize their knowledge and experience in optimizing our fleet of robotic and automation systems for cost-effective use in processing a multitude of production processes and across multiple, unique parts and assemblies. Among the position’s responsibility is the testing of new automation solutions, the design part specific fixtures, packaging, and end of arm tooling, and developing algorithms and control systems. This individual will be a participant in the identification of opportunities, and the design and development of solutions. To be successful, you should excel in solving problems, exploring, learning, and creating complete and documented solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and improve robotic and automation systems within metal fabrication, machining and assembly processes
  • Complete the factory and/or site acceptance testing for projects integrated from outside vendors
  • Write and debug part specific automation programming
  • Design, build and create fixtures and end of arm tools for part specific processes
  • Participate in the design and development of new automation solutions
  • Work closely with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve issues and provide technical support

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 3-5 years’ of engineering experience
  • BS or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Intermediate to advanced coding skills using a scripting language
  • Understanding and functional knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, vision systems. Electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics and robotics
  • Design and application knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software
  • Tool and fixture design and GD&T

  • Analytical thinking and ability to solve problems in stipulated time
  • Project Management skills
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities
  • Well-versed in computer science, applied physics, and mechanics
  • An understanding of lean manufacturing practices (Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping)
  • Strong Communication skills (written and public speaking)
