Job description summary:

Our organization is seeking a highly killed parts finisher in our machine shop. This position specializes in the removal of a variety of burrs from machined parts, cleans parts, operates Sweco vibrating tub, Baldor bench grinder, wash tank, disc sander, rotary file, hand file, sand deburring tools, air hose to grind, buff, clean, and polish surfaces to prepare for further processing into finished products. This person will also use the down draft deburr bench and automatic parts cleaning system.

Essential duties & responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Deburr and clean machined parts to company standards
• Operate forklift
• Use a variety of basic hand tools and equipment to prepare parts for further processing
• Partially dismantle equipment and tools, and perform clean up and minor maintenance
• Lift and move light weight to moderate weight objects
• Inspect parts to operational requirements
• Responsible for completing work orders and reporting labor hours worked and pieces completed
• Keep work area clean and orderly
• Communicate production status to supervisor and to shift personnel as required to assure any problems and/or schedules are understood

Experience & skills:

• Background in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Must be able to attain and maintain a forklift license
• Ability to interpret written instructions and specifications
• Must be flexible to perform a variety of assignments and adapt to changing conditions
• Ability to work well with others
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed
