Summary/Objective:

This role is responsible for managing accounts and provide support for the accounting, finance, and procurement departments. They may also be responsible for payroll or maintaining vendor accounts and processing procurement requests for goods and services. Other duties and responsibilities include:

Essential functions

  • Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting experience
  • Responsible for preparing bills, invoices, statements, and vouchers for payment according to established procedures.
  • Reconciles bills, checks balances, resolves discrepancies, and maintains vendor/subcontractor files.
  • Perform various accounting tasks, including but not limited to data entry, accounts payable, invoice processing, account reconciliation and maintenance of the general ledger including preparation of monthly journal entries.
  • Participate with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide support for audits and tax filings.
  • Invoicing and reconciliation for varying departments
  • Maintaining and promoting excellent vendor relations
  • Responsible for preparing bills, invoices, statements, and vouchers for payment according to established procedures.
  • Reconciles bills, checks balances, resolves discrepancies, and maintains vendor/subcontractor files.
  • Must have working knowledge of accounting best practices and understanding of Generally Accepted Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize workload.
  • Knowledge of business-level English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to foster and maintain business and client relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to explain and interpret fiscal related policies and general accounting.

  • Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and (verbal and written) communication skills. As well as strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Possess a strong PC knowledge including proficiency in Office 365, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and be a team player.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent ability to work independently.

Physical demands

Sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 10 lbs.

Required education and experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
    • 8 years' experience as an accounting clerk
    • 4 years of payroll tax fillings-940, 941, W-2, 1096, etc.
    • 4 years of working with FAR, GSA Per Diem, and Federal Travel Regulations


Preferred education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 10 years’ experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Strong knowledge of accounting platforms and systems
