Kitchen Manager – Full Time - This role will be responsible for all aspects of the food service operation for a senior living community: manages production, employee training and customer service; menu selection, food safety, inventory and cost control. The ideal candidate is a great communicator and team lead with a passion for an outstanding food product and unexpected guest experience. Complies with federal, company standards.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Recruit and hire staff
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of employees
  • Determine staff schedules and requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of food
  • Ensure new employees receive instruction and are trained properly
  • Encourages teamwork and builds high morale among team members
  • Ensure compliance to established standards for kitchen
  • Ensure sanitation standards and regulations are followed
  • Manage the estimation of amounts and costs of required supplies
  • Monitor the ordering of food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation
  • Check the quality and quantity of received products
  • Manage and/or arrange for equipment purchase and repairs
  • Ensure that the menus are varied, nutritionally balances, and appetizing
  • Prepare food according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions and specifications
  • Assist where needed
  • Works closely with Executive Director regarding kitchen operations and personnel
  • Conducts staff meetings on a regular basis
  • Communicates openly and honestly

Required Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Previous food service experience required
  3. Valid driver’s license
