We operate the TARTA Overflow Paratransit service to serve eligible disabled passengers in the Toledo region and we are looking to find amazing new drivers to join this service!

What is TARTA Overflow Paratransit?

TARTA Paratransit provides eligible riders with disabilities access to public transportation services that complement TARTA’s fixed-route bus system. The TARTA Paratransit service operates from approximately 5AM to 10:30PM on weekdays and 6:30AM to 9PM on weekends.

Riders are eligible for the TARTA Paratransit service if they are unable to use fixed-route transportation due to a disability. TARTA Paratransit is a shared-ride service that provides origin-to-destination transportation for riders. The TARTA Overflow Paratransit service is an additional transportation option provided by transit agencies to address capacity constraints and efficiently serve certain rides. Drivers assist riders in boarding and exiting vehicles, and in the event that a particular rider’s disability or adverse weather conditions prevent that rider from negotiating the distance between the curb and the door of their origin/destination, drivers must also assist the rider in traveling that distance.

To be eligible to operate on the Via Platform for TARTA, you must:

• Have a valid driver’s license from Ohio

• Are 25 years of age or older

• Have more than one year of driving history

• Pass background check

• Pass drug test 

• Proficient in English

*New driver partner promotion: To be eligible, you must complete at least 30 hours of driving on the Via platform within 30 days of completing your driver onboarding. Time offline, including breaks, will not be included in this 30-hour minimum. This promotion may be revoked or altered at any time at Via's sole discretion, and these terms are subject to change at Via's sole discretion.
