Accounting Director - Hybrid Opportunity 

Overview of the Position:

The Accounting Director will assist in the oversight of the department including general accounting and financial statement preparation. This person will be responsible for recording assets, liabilities, income, and expenses for the company and its affiliated entities. The ideal candidate will excel in the preparation and analysis of financial statements for internal and regulatory reporting.  They will be the key person to support external auditors with year-end and tax return preparation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct, advise, and manage department activities, including hiring and performance evaluations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for senior management.
  • Provide recommendations for strategic changes to financial operations.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual statement filings and assist with tax returns.
  • Train, coach, and motivate employees.
  • Assist internal and external auditors, including Model Audit Rule testing.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred.
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience in industry and/or public accounting with supervisory/management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Hands-on exposure to insurance accounting.
  • ERP experience needed with exposure to SAP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
