The role of the Staff Pharmacist is pivotal in delivering thorough pharmaceutical care within the hospital environment. Responsibilities include pounding and dispensing prescribed medications, facilitating prescription transfers, providing valuable drug information to healthcare colleagues, and accurately entering medication orders into the puter system. Furthermore, the Staff Pharmacist oversees patient profiles to guarantee proper medication usage, supervises support personnel, and records interventions when required. We seek a candidate with a strong grasp of standard pharmacy concepts, practices, and procedures, who can leverage their experience and discernment to make meaningful contributions to our team.

Location: Monroe, LA
Schedule: Days and Evenings, every other weekend

Experience, Education, Training, Special Skills, and Licensure:
- Up to 1 year of relevant experience
- Current license with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy (RPH)
- Excellent verbal and written munication skills
- Strong analytical thinking abilities
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team

Duties:

1. Dispense Prescribed Medications: Accurately pound and dispense medications prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring the correct dosage, labeling, and instructions are provided to patients.

2. Provide Drug Information: Offer expertise and guidance to healthcare professionals and patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, drug interactions, and other pharmaceutical inquiries.

3. Enter Medication Orders: Enter medication orders into the puter system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to facilitate the timely delivery of medications to patients.

4. Monitor Patient Profiles: Regularly review patient profiles to ensure medications are being used appropriately, identify potential drug therapy problems, and intervene as needed to optimize patient outes.

5. Supervise Support Staff: Provide oversight and direction to pharmacy technicians and other support staff, ensuring tasks are pleted accurately and efficiently while maintaining pliance with pharmacy regulations and protocols.
