Counter Sales Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced Counter Sales Manager to play a key role in our growth and expansion.

As a Counter Sales Manager, you will work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment to increase store sales and maintain efficient store operations. Your primary goal will be to grow business by increasing customer loyalty and satisfaction. You will also supervise store personnel to ultimately, help our customers find the lighting solution to fit their needs. You will also cross-train on warehouse and other functions within the company.

Position Objectives and Expectations

Sales:

  • Help identify more upsell and project opportunities
  • Improve order flow and speed of processing
  • Improve and expand relationships with contractors to drive business
  • Improve consistency of customer experience

Personnel:

  • Coach and train new and existing employees
  • Ensure effective employee engagement and cooperation
  • Ensure employee compliance with company policies and procedures

Operations:

  • Ensure open transfers are maintained within company expectations
  • Ensure cycle counts are being done regularly and accurately
  • Coordinate with other store managers and Sr. management to ensure adequate staffing
  • Ensure that open orders and will-calls are maintained, and customers are properly notified and followed up with
  • Ensure that store and counter cleanliness is properly maintained

Pay and Benefits

  • $70,000-$80,000/yr is the total comp which includes base salary (based on experience) + sales bonuses, and company profitability bonuses

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years experience in a counter sales supervisory position required, supervisory experience in the lighting or electrical distribution industry highly preferred.
  • Lighting industry, full line electrical distribution, or similar experience running a store selling to contractors, property managers, and municipalities strongly preferred.
  • Associates degree or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and ability and willingness to travel between stores as needed is required.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment and utilize basic warehouse equipment.
  • Proficiency with a computer and typing required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Physical Demands

  • Effective communication skills, in person and on the phone, to efficiently and accurately process work
  • Perform frequent physical duties, including lifting/handling/moving of objects typically up to 30 pounds but may be up to 50 pounds on occasion
  • Ability to reach, stretch and grasp to select items off shelving, palettes, etc. and efficiently organize products
  • Ability to operate all manual and power equipment, including but not limited to hand truck or power jack
  • Physical conditioning to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to read and interpret small print
  • Long range vision to be able to identify objects and to drive a motor vehicle
