With award-winning projects from Woodinville to Sammamish, they are looking for an experienced Interior Designer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

DESIGN:

  • Responsible for all stages of assigned projects including preliminary design, design development, material, color selections, specifications, and handoff to production staff.
  • Research and specify items and materials as necessary to meet the varying needs of each unique project.
  • Develop a project design schedule for client and team to use.
  • Schedule weekly meetings with clients and travel to various locations throughout the Puget Sound to select finishes, fixtures, materials, appliances, and other miscellaneous items unique to each job.
  • Continued education in product and technology.
  • Staging for professional photos after project completion.

SALES:

  • Work with the project development team to establish floorplans and define scope for Design-Build contracts.
  • Work closely with project development to ensure design development, client requests, and budget expectations are in alignment.

DRAFTING:

  • From start to finish, provide a buildable plan set including demo, framing, electrical, plumbing, mechanical floorplans, as well as elevations including windows, doors, and other finish material schedules.
  • Provide appropriate documentation for permits in collaboration with the Production Manager.
  • Liaise with any outside design resources such as architectural designer, architect, and some structural engineering resources to incorporate requirements into design.
  • Design cabinet layouts and elevations and review with client. Upon cabinet design completion review layout designs to check for completeness of order. Process orders, document ordering, and keep production staff informed of timelines.
  • Create project drawings using Chief Architect to include 2D and 3D drawing sets, starting at conceptual through to permitting. Working drawings to include plans, elevations, selections, and details.
  • Work cooperatively with the Nip Tuck team to ensure clarity, completeness, accuracy, code compliance, design resolution, and details.
  • Develop & implement changes to current Chief Architect standards & system to improve clarity, efficiency, and presentation.
  • Produce accurate depictions of final design for client to review and make changes as requested by client.

PROJECT DOCUMENTATION:

  • This role is responsible for accuracy in measurement, photography, and all documentation of existing conditions.
  • Maintain clear and concise notes on all Client meetings and phone calls, and update team through daily logs on BuilderTrend.
  • In a materials list document material and product specifications during and after the design process.
  • Organize project data within the job book.
  • Maintain accurate client flies through hard copies, Dropbox, and BuilderTrend.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

  • Responsible for ordering cabinets and purchasing support to Team as needed.
  • Provide aesthetic management during construction of project to maintain design intent.
  • Providing design solutions to any unforeseen circumstances.
  • Coordinate with the Estimator to make sure all the products are ordered.
  • Create detailed and accurate change orders when applicable to design selections as well as supporting the team as needed.
  • Participate in regular design review meetings.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Establish good working relationship with other team members.
  • Foster positive communications and relationships with clients and vendors/subs.
  • Keep up to date on industry trends and developments.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years proven design experience with a variety of job size and clientele.
  • Four-year degree in Design and/or Architecture or similar area of study is highly desired. Some coursework and/or years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Good communication skills, personable demeanor, and sense of humor.
  • Use appropriate English, spelling, grammar, punctuation and word usage and ability to communicate concepts, thoughts and ideas both written and orally to others.
  • Creative imagination and practical understanding of construction.
  • Ability to work within deadlines.
  • Exceptional client facing problem solver with the ability to manage conflict between decision makers, provide redirection based on client wants vs budget, and inherently keep the client excited about the end results!
  • Certified Kitchen of Bath Designer through NKBA(CKD, CBD) is a plus.
  • Experience working in a Design/Build environment is a plus.
  • Proficient with Chief Architect or similar CAD software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Position is most successful with ability to work at the office and at showrooms with clients, as well as remotely with a dedicated office space.
  • Clean driving record with reliable transportation, valid license, and insurance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative, effective working relationships with managers, peers, clients and other employees.
