General Overview

As a Summer Camp Counselor you will encourage growth and development through play, plan and prepare daily discussions and activities focusing on the weekly theme, and plan and prepare educational aspects to enhance field trips. You will Foster imagination, nurture relationships, build cooperative relationships with parents, use positive reinforcement techniques, help the children in your care build positive relationships, and help them grow physically, academically, socially, and emotionally. You will be overseeing various field trips and off site activities for up to 25 children, with additional staff support, for ages 5 years (children who have completed Kindergarten) through 12 years old. Summer camp Starts on May 27th and ends August 14th.

Know How

A Summer Camp Counselor must possess good communication and organizational skills. A Summer Camp Counselor must have the ability to maintain control of an area even when distracted by noise or activity, and work with a diverse group of people. A Summer Camp Counselor also must possess:

Must be 21 years of age and older

CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training. (obtainable during onboarding)

Food Handlers Permit (obtainable during onboarding)

Ability to pass a background check

Daily field trips include splash pads, parks for organized sports, museums, local hikes, lakes for swimming, movie theaters, along with many more including arcades, bowling, laser tag etc.
