Machinery Sales Company (client) is more than a distributor of machine tools. Our extensive lines of state of the art, high quality machine tools, combined with applications assistance, training, and top notch customer service makes (client's services) a premier manufacturing solution provider. Our business is expanding and we are seeking a qualified Sales Engineer to develop and grow our business in Southern California. Salary is $55-$60k, with an uncapped commission structure. Established territory that is already generating revenue.

The primary responsibilities include:
* Build relationships with prospective customers, as well as existing customers through consultative selling of CNC Machine Tool products and services.
* Grow new and existing accounts by selling a well-balanced mix of product lines within the following technology categories: CNC Machine Tools (Milling and Turning), Laser Systems, and Abrasive Waterjets.
* Plan and perform customer sales calls, assess customer needs, prepare customer quotes, close orders and follow up on all related activities.
* Provide coverage of assigned accounts and build strong relationships with new and existing customers identifying and responding promptly to their needs.
* Inform customers of available products by anticipating their needs and introducing new products.
* Develop a deeper knowledge of (client) products on a continuous basis by attending related training sessions to enhance sales and presentation skills.

Requirements:
* 3+ years Experience in Sales is preferred
* 3+ years Engineering experience / knowledge with a Bachelor’s degree preferred
* Self-motivated, high energy sales talent who possesses excellent customer relations/sales skills, problem solving capabilities, as well as a proven successful sales career.
* Strong technical background coupled with the desire for a people oriented position and a strong professional sales drive.
* Engineering degree preferred but will consider a business degree, or previous experience/success in the Manufacturing Industry. (CNC Machine Tool or Cutting Tool Sales.)
* Ability to evaluate product applications and assist customers with product scope, technical description, proposals and project management.
* Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems related to machining. Knowledge of comparable (client) product lines.
* Interest in using technical knowledge and relationship building skills to sell and manage a sales territory.
* Ability to work independently, possessing excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.
* Ability to travel to off site business and customer locations.
