Senior Writer/Editor

Azimuth Corporation is seeking a talented Senior Writer/Editor to join our Dahlgren, VA team in support of a government customer. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the creative teams and other technical departments to ensure all documents meet established organizational and industry standards. *This position is contingent upon contract award. *

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Use journalistic style, write, edit, proofread, and copyedit a variety of documents, press releases, news stories, news features, mission features, human interest features, magazines, social media content, and science articles.
• Collaborate with staff to plan and prepare written content for the distribution both internally and externally to the public.
• Assist in the development and writing of an annual strategic communications plan to include research, data collection, metrics, and in-depth knowledge of communications strategy and execution.
• Research, develop, investigate, and write a variety of science-related and human-interest news and feature stories.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Public Affairs, or related degree (experience in lieu of a degree may be considered)
• 6+ years of experience writing for the military (R&D or testing environment)
• Active Secret Security Clearance
