Job Description
The Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association (MITA) is a statewide construction trade association that consists of over 500 Michigan companies representing construction disciplines such as road and bridge, sewer and water, utility, railroad, excavation, and specialty construction. MITA's mission is to promote the development, improvement, and sustainability of Michigan's infrastructure through advocacy, education, and collaboration. The association works closely with government agencies, lawmakers, industry stakeholders, and the public to address infrastructure challenges, advocate for funding and policy support, and promote best practices in construction and transportation management.
The Membership/Office Coordinator Position
The Membership/Office Coordinator plays an integral part in supporting the Associations administrative membership needs. The Membership/Office Coordinator handles all the salient details that go into MITAs success with members, including facilities and supplies management, meeting set up and break down, providing onsite support for meetings and conferences, handling MIOSHA appeals, and maintaining membership databases.
A pleasant and engaging first impression is a must for this role, as this position assists stakeholders with technology, assists members with renewals, and implements strategies to recruit and retain MITA members. Additional marketing responsibilities include creating digital signage and assisting with member communications.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Membership/Office Coordinator Position
At least 4 years of transferable experience, preferably within a non-profit organization
Proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel), Google Suite, and Canva
An organized and detail-oriented approach to work product, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
An outgoing personality with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in marketing, membership development, and engagement is highly preferred
An understanding of nonprofit member-focused organization and awareness of the value, purpose, culture, and mission of nonprofit organizations.
