2nd Shift - Tool & Die Maker
Wood Staffing is hiring for a growing Niles, MI company who offers a clean and friendly work environment with a competitive benefit package once hired in. Experienced Tool & Die Maker needed for 2nd shift. Will work from 2:00pm - 12:00am Monday - Thursday with additional overtime as needed. Temp to hire position with wages ranging from $20/hr - $30/hr and up depending on experience with and additional $3/hr. shift premium. Responsibilities:
- Build new dies and fixtures using prints, 3D models, and sketches
- Design fixtures and jigs to aid in parts fabrication
- Analyze blueprints and specifications, layout metal stock, and operate tool room machines and equipment
- Adjust parts and die details by filing, grinding, and shimming to fit them together
- Utilize measuring tools in building, modifying or reviewing finished parts for conformance to specifications
- Troubleshoot completed dies to ensure that produced parts meet specifications and make adjustments as needed
- Repair or requisition, replacement parts, tools or hardware as needed
Requirements:
- Journeyman Tool & Die Maker/Repair is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints/3D models and have working knowledge of quality inspection measurement tools
- Experience operating tool room equipment including lathes, mills, grinders and saws with CNC lathe and mill experience preferred.
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Must be able to do physically demanding work that includes, sitting, standing, walking and lifting up to 50lbs during the entire shift
- Must have good work record and reliable transportation
