Pay:

$25.50 - $32.50 per hour

Hours/Shifts/Travel:

Full-time, Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week.

Typical shift is 8AM to 5PM Monday-Friday, depending on the project there may be need for: overtime, night shift, and weekends.

Must be willing to travel- Candidates can expect to travel up to 90% of the time in support of project work nationwide. While in travel status, employees are provided a daily per diem in addition to company paid lodging and transportation.

Skills/Requirements/Qualifications/Duties:

As a Senior SUE Field Technician, this position offers an exciting opportunity to be trained in the art of investigating utility infrastructure using surface geophysics, via multiple highly specialized tools including EM Pipe and Cable Locators, Ground Penetrating Radar, GPS Survey, LIDAR, TDEM, and more.

A successful candidate must be willing to learn and possess the aptitude to understand and implement training. In addition, a successful candidate typically possesses the following characteristics/qualifications:

  • 5 years experience utility designating experience using EM pipe and cable locators preferred
  • 3 years experience managing field crew preferred
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
  • A strong work ethic with a self-starting attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to think critically and solve problems independently
  • A working knowledge of utility record interpretation, utility system design and configuration practices
  • Proficiency in the use of PC and mobile technology including Windows, Apple and Android operating systems.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record

As a Senior SUE Field Technician, a successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in varied and dynamic environment including both office and field settings (85% field work, 15% office) in support of project work nationwide

Environmental and physical requirements include:

  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk on varied terrain for long distances
  • Must be able to work outside in all season including freezing and hot conditions
  • Must be able to work around moving traffic and within traffic control areas
  • Must be able to operate standard passenger vehicles and trucks
  • Must be able to operate basic power tools
  • Must be able to manipulate small hand tools to facilitate access to utility infrastructure (ex communication pedestal’s)
  • Must be able to operate tools designed for the removal of manhole/storm sewer lids/access points
  • Must be able to operate EM pipe and cable locating equipment in conjunction with marking paint applicator
  • Must be able to perform repetitive physical task
  • OSHA certification preferred but not required
  • Confined Space Entry certification preferred but not required
  • Must be available for weekend and night work as needed, although non-typical.

Office and computer requirements include:

  • Must be familiar with MS Office suite of products, including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Utility Designating/Locating: 5 years (Preferred)
