Dexstar Wheel is the leading domestic steel wheel manufacturing company located in Elkhart, Indiana. We are the largest steel wheel supplier to American trailer manufacturers and the RV industry. We are owned by American Kenda Rubber which is located in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. We are looking for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician. ENTRY LEVEL PAY STARTING AT $22 HR, 50 plus hours a week

Education/Experience Required:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of relative experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires good communication, reasoning, math, and computer skills.
  • Must pass company certification to acquire a forklift license.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, mechanical stamping, and hydraulic and pneumatic press maintenance is a plus. Working knowledge of welding is required.
  • Ability to read blueprints, code requirements, service manuals, and manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Electrical: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)
  • PLC/Controls: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Education: High school or equivalent (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and rebuild items on our Hydraulic Rim Lines, Welders, Mechanical Presses, Wash lines, E-Coat lines, and Powder Coat lines.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor electrical repairs throughout the facility, including installing pumps & motors. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Install and maintain pipe systems for water, air, and electrical conduit, including hydraulic hoses.
  • Set up and operate the following equipment: drill press, grinder, cut-off saws, band saws, arc and acetylene welding equipment, and/or other metalworking tools to make and repair equipment.
  • Maintain logs on equipment and perform preventative maintenance duties to support the company PM program, including, but not limited to:
  • Changing oils and other lubricants
  • Change filters
  • Checking pressures, switches, buttons, cords, hoses, etc.
  • Repair and maintain sprayer systems, including fixtures, hoses, connectors, etc.
