Reports To: Facilities Manager


PURPOSE

To assist the Facilities Manager to generally maintain all aspects of the resort property and to provide a service for the guests, owners and management company. To provide a high-quality and safe property which guests, owners and employees can fully enjoy.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree preferred; minimum five years’ related experience and/or training required; or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Obtain Pool Operator License within six months of employment, if applicable

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Assist the Facilities Manager to oversee the complete maintenance management of the resort property (interior and exterior); perform daily walk of entire property.
  • Perform a wide variety of skilled and semiskilled maintenance activities (e.g. lighting, electrical, alarms, plumbing, security, painting, general carpentry, etc.).
  • Interact with contractors and vendors for the purpose of obtaining bids, scheduling repairs and completing projects efficiently, as requested by the Facilities Manager.
  • Ensure the work order system is operating effectively.
  • Maintain vehicle, tools and equipment (including uniform) in good and proper working order.
  • Assist maintenance team with projects; ensure projects are completed in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Arrange furniture and equipment when requested; clean resort buildings and grounds as needed; assist with security issues as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all resort property.
  • Prepare written materials such as daily timesheets, daily activity logs, bids, quotes, reports, budgets, etc.
  • Take and respond to guest calls and requests; work to resolve any issues in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Assists the Facilities Manager in creating, writing, and presenting various reports.
Requirements:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position provides limited supervision to the Maintenance Department staff.

  • Ability to use a computer for advance applications such as spreadsheets, business correspondence (email, memos, etc.), and job-specific software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, sit, hear, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, and kneel. The employee will frequently be required to talk and taste and/or smell. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close and distant-vision capabilities.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee will seldom be exposed to wet, hot, humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals or solutions. The employee will be exposed to moderate noise conditions.


Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules that reflect the business needs of the resort. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
