Job Description:
The Certified Supervisor of Peer Specialists (CSPS) is a key link between the agency’s peer, staff and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include working with Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS)s and other staff to ensure the health and safety of clients in or seeking recovery; guiding CPRSs to provide quality services to clients in or seeking recovery; and ensuring CPRSs understand their ethical responsibilities and stay within their scope of practice.
The CSPS oversees and supports the Bridge Clinics CPRSs in all three counties via weekly virtual meetings and every other week in-person meetings at each site. The supervision meetings include documentation of routine performance reviews and case consultations as needed. The CSPS is responsible for discussing performance issues with CPRSs, documenting any ongoing CPRS performance issues, and bringing them to the attention of the appropriate Bridge Site Manager as well as Bridge Administrator. CSPS reports to the Bridge Administrator.
Essential Functions:
  1. Provides recovery-oriented peer services, skill-building, ethical problem solving, and optimizing of professional growth with Bridge clients.
  2. Thoroughly understands the job responsibilities of Bridge CPRS including peer documentation requirements.
  3. Coordinates patient intakes with other CPRS in a rotating fashion.
  4. Reviews the service notes/documentation with the CPRS for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate content.
  5. Assists the CPRS with documentation, training needs and problem resolution as needed.
  6. Conduct both administrative, task-oriented supervision and reflective/consultative supervision of Bridge CPRSs. Administrative supervision focuses on organizational efficiency, with all the necessary attention on performance measures, required tasks and urgent deadlines. Consultative supervision focuses on the professional development of the CPRS, along with rapport with clients.
  7. Demonstrates the ability to provide effective supervision, model behavior and ethics for the CPRS.
Qualifications:
  1. Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) with 5 or more years of experience in Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder field.
  2. Certified Supervisor of Peer Specialists (CSPS) preferred or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
  3. College education in human service field degree preferred.
  4. Possession of a driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the state.
