Hoover Metropolitan Complex is a world-class, multi-sport and event facility located in Hoover, AL just 10 miles south of Birmingham. The state-of-the-art Finley Center includes more than 83,000 square feet of uninterrupted multi-purpose space and Hoover RV Park features 170 pull-through spaces with utility hookups. The outdoor complex features five NCAA regulation-size baseball/softball fields, five multi-purpose fields suitable for NCAA regulation soccer, football, and lacrosse, 16 hard tennis courts, a playground, and splash pad. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Tennis Pro Shop Attendant is responsible for greeting and welcoming members and their guests. This position is the first point of contact between guests and the facility. Individuals are expected to maintain a pleasant and friendly demeanor with everyone.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Answering inquiries and providing excellent customer service
• Proper use of Kourts and point of sale software
• All opening and/or closing duties
• Answer the phone promptly and politely, take reservations, direct calls to appropriate areas, deliver messages, etc.
• Assist members regarding scheduling and facility policies
• Assist tennis coordinator with daily tasks
• Maintain organized displays and desk area
• Maintain clean indoor and outdoor seating areas

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work with a wide variety of ages from pre-school thru adult
• Flexible work schedule (e.g. nights, weekends, holidays)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Must have excellent guest service skills
• Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Ability to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations
• Must be respectful and friendly to our athletes, guests, visitors, spectators, and fellow team members
• Must work well with others
• Must take personal initiative for the betterment of the team and facility
• Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of others
• Must be 18 years of age or older

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. waist high
• Will be required to stand for extended periods of time
• Able to enter information on computers
• Must comply with safety and health code standards
• Facility has intermittent noise
• Must wear proper uniform
• Able to run/walk as needed

PREFERRED:

• Tennis experience
• Customer service experience
