Job Title: Porter

Location: Four (4) multi-family apartment communities in Portland, Oregon:

  • Beaumont Village 4429 NE Freemont Street Portland, Or 97213
  • Mississippi Court 2631 N Mississippi Ave Portland, Or 97227

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm

Employment Type: Full-time

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Compensation Package:

  • Competitive pay rate of $19.00
  • Monthly transportation allowance of $200.00

Administrative:

  • Comply with all Fair Housing and Equal Housing Opportunities requirements
  • Comply with appropriate state landlord/tenant statutes
  • Comply with OSHA safety regulations
  • Attend training and development seminars
  • Communicate daily with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager, and perform tasks as requested

Asset Preservation:

  • Ensure the building is in accordance with all applicable building codes, ordinances, pool safety, fire codes, and emergency evacuation regulations
  • Perform regularly scheduled inspections of all common areas
  • Ensure preventative repairs are done on a regular basis

General Maintenance:

  • Perform janitorial services for the interior and exterior of the building, including and not limited to sweeping, mopping, trash pickup, pet waste removal, vacuuming, and dusting
  • Operate a leaf blower and pressure washer

Resident Experience:

  • Promote community member satisfaction by maintaining a high standard of community cleanliness and curb appeal
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces as necessary
  • Interact with current and future community members in a professional, courteous, and non-discriminatory manner

What You’ll Need:

  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable transportation
  • 1+ years of relevant porter and groundskeeping experience
  • General knowledge of various janitorial services including sweeping, mopping, trash pickup, vacuuming, and dusting
  • Demonstrates teamwork, good hygiene, ethical behavior and integrity, excellent customer service and communication skills, ability to multi-task, resolve conflicts, engage in cost/benefit analytical decision-making, and ambition for continuous professional development

Your Work Environment:

  • Approximately 90% inspecting property grounds, including apartments, building structure, landscaping, and signage which may require the ability to climb stairs, scaffolds, ladders and maneuver walkways
  • Approximately 10% in office environment using computer or tablet and phone
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, carrying or pulling of 20-50 pounds
  • Frequent kneeling, crouching, bending, and reaching to inspect appliances and fixtures
  • May be required to work weekends
