As a Writer / Editor at Smarty, your goal is to deliver quality content (with an infusion of fun) on a consistent basis that helps keep customers and prospects informed and engaged. 

What You'll Do

• Write original content including technical articles, blog posts, ebooks, white papers, press releases, bylines, infographics and more. 
• Create thought-provoking content that affirms Smarty as the address data authority. 
• Work closely with the SEO team to strategically plan and write website content that ranks highly in search.
• Review, proofread, and revise as necessary content created by Product Marketing and Campaign Marketing such as product flyers, campaign ads, emails, video scripts, and sales tools. 
• Collaborate with all Smarty departments to generate ideas for valuable content. 
• Strategically plan new content and release timing and manage the editorial calendar. 
• Understand target audiences and write content that speaks to their pain points. 
• Research existing and new topics to make our writing as accurate and detailed as possible.
• Fact-check data collected during the research process.
• Align content messages with the buyer's journey. 
• Help the marketing team craft and refine new ideas for compelling content. 
• Ensure a consistent tone of voice for the Smarty brand.
• Analyze the effectiveness of published content. 
• Share your knowledge and skills with team members to elevate all writing. 
• Foster a positive, collaborative team environment where people can do their best work

Who You Are

• 3+ years of writing and editing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.
• Ability to write and edit quickly and efficiently while maintaining high content quality.
• Ability to adapt writing style to match brand voice and communicate effectively with various target audiences.
• Strong research skills and the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise content.
• Professional experience in B2B content writing, preferably tech.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience incorporating feedback through both written comments and face-to-face interactions.
• Understanding of brand voice, buyer journeys, and digital marketing. 

• Familiarity with SEO principles and experience in optimizing content for search engines is a plus.
