LANDSCAPE FLEET & EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

Summary:

With the guidance from the Fleet manager, mechanics service and repair all company vehicles, mowing equipment and construction equipment while operating within the budget guidelines and according to EMI standard operating procedures. Job duties may include fluid and filter change, brakes, tune ups, suspension work, welding, and vehicle electrical work. The mechanic should possess the ability to diagnose problems, document work and have reasonable verbal communication skills. Must possess a valid driver license and the working knowledge of basic hand tools. Responsible for vehicle operation, equipment operation and adherence to EMI established safety procedures. Must be available to work extended hours, weekends and during inclement weather. As well as performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Assist in ongoing preventative maintenance and repair of organizational equipment and vehicles.

2. Safely, effectively and efficiently operate equipment required to complete assigned work.

3. Mechanics are sometimes asked to perform minor building maintenance.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and hear. The employee is frequently required to talk.

Equipment:

Company Vehicle with Trailer, Fork Lift / Skid Steer, Welder, Acetylene Torch, and Powered Hand Tools.

Other Skills:

Should possess a basic understanding of vehicle specific diagnostic systems (OBDII and/or Kohler). Advanced understanding of diagnostic systems is preferred.
