Job Description

The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting financial planning, financial analysis, and management reporting for multiple departments within the company. Responsibilities will include the annual budget/planning process, quarterly forecasting, month-end variance reporting, and revenue analysis. The Financial Analyst will be required to build and maintain relationships across the organization to ensure timely communication of pertinent information between departments. Nature of work requires the ability to work independently and receive guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Central point of contact for budgeting and financial reporting for multiple departments across various entities within the organization.
  • Supports the creation of the management financial reporting package including P&L, margin analysis, revenue reporting, operating expense analysis, and balance sheet.
  • Partners with sales and marketing leadership on monthly sales forecasting — helps consolidate deliverables and reconcile outputs with finance and operations.
  • Reviews monthly reports and analysis on revenue and operating expenses as compared to the operating plan and forecasts with business partners. Monitor and communicate opportunities and/or gaps in P&L, by maintaining a set of business metrics.
  • Maintains key performance indicator reporting used by senior management to drive results.
  • Participates in monthly financial close process and preparation of reporting packages for senior management.
  • Prepares monthly COGS and inventory reporting, including budget vs. actuals
  • Analyzes inventory consumption trends and collaborates cross functionally to create investment forecasts
  • Ensures compliance with SOX procedures and assist with external auditor’s requests during quarterly reviews and annual audits, including preparation of schedules and gathering supporting documentation.

  • Experience with 3 Statement Financial Modeling
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and reconciliation skills
  • Experience or ability to interact with leaders at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; Builds and maintains strong working relationships with peers
  • Ability to work independently; ensure responsive and timely follow-up; meet deadlines and demonstrates a sense of urgency; ability to prioritize; and strong organizations skills.
  • Solid knowledge of corporate finance concepts
  • Highly organized with a capacity to manage large amounts of data, multiple priorities, and light deadlines with minimal supervision or direction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill large amounts of complex information into a concise message
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel and mastery of other PC applications including Outlook, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word required
  • ERP systems and data mining experience a plus
  • Experience with PowerBI a plus

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics)
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial management, business planning and analysis, and/or public accounting

Salary Range

Alphatec Spine, Inc. complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $80,000 to $90,000 Full-Time Annual Salary
