JOB TITLE: Buyer

DEPARTMENT: Procurement

REPORTS TO: C.E.O.

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt


Purpose and Scope: The Buyer at Sage Oil Vac, Inc. is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services essential for the company's operations. This role involves collaborating with vendors, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely deliveries to support production and other business needs.

  • Vendor Management
    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
    • Negotiate contracts and terms to secure advantageous agreements.
  • Purchase Order Management
    • Generate and manage purchase orders accurately.
    • Monitor order statues and ensure timely delivery of materials.
    • Address any discrepancies or issues related to orders.
  • Cost Analysis and Budgeting
    • Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Work closely with other departments to adhere to budgetary constraints.
  • Inventory Control
    • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels.
    • Implement strategies to minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Collaboration
    • Collaborate with various departments, including production, logistics, and quality assurance, to understand their material needs.
  • Market Research
    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and pricing.
    • Recommend alternative materials or suppliers to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Specific Tasks for Position
    • Email correspondence.
    • Meeting attendance as assigned.
    • Use of company software to perform day-to-day tasks.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's of degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or a similar role.
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Knowledge of supply chain management and procurement processes.
    • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
    • Negotiation skills.
