Job Description
The Maintenance Engineer monitors and coordinates daily maintenance activities, provides technical / engineering support to maintenance groups as needed, striving to continually identify and implement means of predicting and preventing equipment failures, and provides assistance and support to the Maintenance Manager to achieve overall departmental and corporate goals. This is a salaried exempt position and serves as backup for the Maintenance/Engineering Manager in their absence.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v Requires a bachelor degree (preferably in civil or mechanical engineering) and one to two years’ experience in a petrochemical and / or manufacturing environment is recommended.
v Requires a self-motivated individual with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
v Experience with Microsoft Office products is recommended.
v Requires successful completion of training requirements as outlined by the Maintenance/Engineering Department.
v Always maintains a clean and well-organized workspace.
v Strives to develop good working relationships with all co-workers, customers, and associates.
v Monitors the initiation, development, assignment, and completion of general maintenance work orders, constantly strives to identify areas in which improvements could be made to decrease failures and increase the efficiency of repairs.
v Acts as primary Technical Support for Construction Maintenance Group and supplements other crafts and to coordinate work that involves multiple departments and to ensure that all maintenance related tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner.
v Provides support for non-routine maintenance work including maintenance and emergency shutdowns.
v Maintains updated files for all major plant equipment containing drawings, summaries of major repairs, purchasing documentation showing parts ordered and associated costs, etc. and any other documentation related to the equipment that may be needed.
v Maintains and further develops a computerized preventive maintenance system to periodically provide maintenance to plant equipment as needed to reduce equipment failures.
v Participates in all aspects of miscellaneous project and maintenance engineering as necessary to meet the needs of Maintenance / Engineering Department.
v Works with Warehouse personnel to establish and maintain proper min. / max. levels for inventory.
v Works with Engineering Assistant to ensure that contracts of “on call” response contractors are maintained in good standing.
v Provides support for monitoring, generating reports and distribution of KPI as defined through EWV TPR effort.
v Member of this company’s Specification Book Committee to provide development of corporate specifications.
v Follows policies and practices as stated in the Employee Handbook and other facility policy and procedures manuals.
v Must meet the qualifications and successfully obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card as outlined by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
v Performs all tasks in accordance with plant safety guidelines and procedures with a heightened sense of awareness to maintain a safe work environment.
