JOB TITLE: Facilities Support Specialist

Shift: M-F 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

JOB SUMMARY

Works under general supervision supporting Facility operations in all areas throughout the campus. This would include Building Operations, Security, Mail services, Furniture, and custodial.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Complete preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on non-production critical equipment through the computerized maintenance system.
  • Performs documentation and regulatory recordkeeping responsibilities as defined in by the operating procedures for equipment maintenance.
  • Responsible for proper documentation of workorders through the computerized maintenance system.
  • Completes work with a high level of quality.
  • Assists with furniture moves and space planning requirements.
  • Mail services (pickup and delivery)
  • Clean and organize (5S) maintenance areas.
  • Stocks material in tool cribs.
  • Escorts contractors/vendors for on campus activities.
  • Retrieve parts and supplies from distributors off campus.
  • Understand lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures including general concepts (stored energy, cause, and effect, etc) related to electrical and mechanical energy.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May handle, collect, label, and transfer hazardous waste following established procedures and guidelines.
  • May be required to work on other shifts
  • Must successfully complete training on biohazards.
  • Required to possess a valid driver's license.
  • Assist with custodial duties.
  • Assist with snow removal/landscaping.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

High school diploma or GED.

Experience

Minimum 2 years experience.

Skills

  • Responds and executes work with a sense of urgency and utilizes support systems to minimize downtime.
  • Comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs all tasks in accordance with company and department policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability and desire to continue learning and increase competency in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and in accordance with priorities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic metric and standard measurements.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, basic instrumentation, and test equipment.
  • Display knowledge of how to identify hazards, ability to understand MSDS in relation to chemicals being used.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Ability to work holidays and weekends.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General Labor Environment requirements include use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.

Target Pay Range:$24- Hourly pay rateto be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
