Volt is hiring a Maintenance Manager to work with our client onsite in Brownwood, TX in a Direct Hire opportunity.
As the Maintenance Manager, you will:
  • Supervise the activities of all Maintenance personnel, including two salaried Maintenance Supervisors and indirect supervision of all hourly maintenance personnel.
  • Work involves functions such as machine installations and repair, machining parts for repair of equipment, welding, brazing, soldering, sheet metal work, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, painting, concrete work, preventative and predictive maintenance, office maintenance.
  • Train subordinates, assign and check work, maintain discipline and enforce safety and good housekeeping regulations. Recommend hiring, dismissals, transfers and upgrading.
  • Establish good personnel relations and ensure continuous maintenance of high morale, efficiency and harmonious operations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the Company rules and regulations.
  • Receive and/or personally prepare work orders.
  • Plan, schedule and assign work and keep close check on progress in order to have the minimum possible interruption of normal activities in the plant and offices.
  • Work from drawings and sketches provided by Plant Engineering and/or make sketches of work to be done, estimate labor costs and calculate materials required.
  • Coordinate the work on major projects to ensure that assigned tasks are performed according to established schedules.
  • Requires some physical effort when personally assisting subordinates with the more difficult and extensive jobs.
  • Normal workloads assigned with frequent peak loads, deadlines and pressures imposed by simultaneous breakdowns of machines and equipment and other emergency situations.
  • Exposed to some adverse conditions such as dirt, oil, water, fumes, and heat. Must be on call on 24-hour basis for emergencies.
  • Occasional travel for short periods may be required to various vendors or seminars.
  • Requires writing letters, memoranda, instructions, procedures, appropriation requests, and occasional reports.

This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred. Must have a minimum of 2-year technical degree or military equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of diversified experience in plant, equipment and machine maintenance, and CMMS operations, including setting up of preventive/predictive maintenance programs, repairing and rebuilding machines, and installing all types of plant and production equipment/machines.
  • Experience supervising electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, sheet metal and other work.
  • Previous experience training and supervising all categories of maintenance personnel.
  • Should have some experience working with contractors and vendors on various aspects of construction, installation and the procurement of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of building trades including carpentry, masonry and general construction and ability in using electrical and mechanical principles, charts, tables, drawings, mathematics and various preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of supervision and leadership, planning and scheduling of work assignments, handling of personnel problems, is essential.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, and Access.

Salary: $85-115K annually *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
