Accounting Supervisor

Are you an established Accounting Supervisor who thrives in mentoring roles and can be strong in all assets of Accounting? If so, Spherion may have the job for you! The Sr. Staff Accountant Supervisor provides in depth financial statement analysis to upper management as well as train and mentor other team members in accounting related functions. The incumbent will coordinate and / or lead recurring processes and independently maintain the accounting for payroll, as well as the analysis of payroll expenses and various other month end functions.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare month-end financial statements through analysis and compilation of work papers.
- Prepare, adjust, and analyze journal entries.
- Prepare documentation for External Auditors.
- Provide financial statement analysis and reports for Management.
- Coach and mentor Level I accounting positions and delegate financial responsibilities, as necessary.
- Coordinate or lead various recurring processes.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
- Five years of accounting experience and at least two to four years of experience leading a team is preferred.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Detail oriented, analytical, proficiency in accounting systems, quick books, ledger system, financial planning systems, editing / writing reports.
- Public Accounting or auditor firm experience a plus.

Bachelors

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent is required.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and GAAP for audit preparation is required.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office products is required.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must be able to talk to all levels of individuals within the company; Be able to think strategically
- Supervisory experience required; proven experience with leading month end processes / financial statements; year-end close, working with auditors preferred and great to have.
- Need to show they have lead month end and year end closings.
- Need to have TRUE experience leading these projects and exemplary communication skills.
