FUNCTION: PLANNER (Production Control)

EDUCATION:

  •  High School Degree required.
  • Two years' experience in Manufacturing and Production preferred.
  • Planning experience preferred.
  • Management experience is helpful.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to learn company Mainframe system – (PPMU, SIMU, PLMU, OPMU, MIMU).
  • Proficient communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interface with all levels at the Manufacturing Plant, Corporate, Sales and with Customer Service.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal skills to assist in team goals and objectives.
  • Monitoring of Production Schedules to ensure order acknowledgement dates are met.
  • Ability to learn required reports from the Production Control Department.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and have experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to develop organization tools and systems to assist in required duties.
  • Gain an understanding of, and compliance with, the "Late Order Notification" program as well as maintaining a weekly report.
  • Gain an understanding of Inventory Management systems – Component Program-Blanket/Stock Programs.
  • Ability to follow-up on action items – Order Improvements, Special Handling Orders, Interplants.
  • Promote Improvement Programs and objectives for the department and the Plant.
  • Release factory orders to the plant by issuing and maintaining appropriate files.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives within the Department.
  • Ability to contribute in a "Team Environment".
  • Promote a safe working environment.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:

The Senior Planner is responsible for following the production schedules of orders in the Plant and providing support and assistance to achieve success. Must be able to communicate accurate information to Corporate personnel. This position must continuously review and ensure our PPMU STAT system is correct. This position is expected to participate as a team member of the Department and assist where needed. He/she is to support ongoing programs within the Department and Plant which promote teamwork, quality and efficiency of work, and cost reductions.
